The court sentenced the defendant to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of EGP 100,000, following his conviction in a case involving drug trafficking and possession of controlled substances.

The incident dates back to October 2024, when investigations accused a man residing in Qena of possessing various types of narcotics, including highly dangerous substances, along with equipment used in preparation and distribution.

Seized items and evidence

Investigations also revealed the seizure of cash amounts and other items in the defendant’s possession, including a mobile phone, as part of an illegal trafficking activity.

Legal proceedings

After completing the investigation phase, the case was referred to the criminal court, which reviewed the evidence and issued its final ruling of life imprisonment and a financial fine.
