Man and woman arrested for disposing of newborn’s body after illicit affair in Shubra El-Kheima
Security forces in Qalyubia uncovered the circumstances behind the discovery of a newborn’s body in Shubra El-Kheima, arresting the parents who confessed the baby was the result of an illicit relationship.
Security authorities in Qalyubia Governorate have revealed the details of a shocking crime after residents reported the discovery of a newborn’s body inside a garbage bag in one of the streets of Shubra El-Kheima.
Major General Ashraf Gaballah, Director of Qalyubia Security, received a report from Major General Mohamed El-Sayed, Director of Qalyubia Criminal Investigations, regarding the incident.
A security force immediately moved to the scene, imposed a security cordon, and called the Public Prosecution to inspect the site. Preliminary examination confirmed the body belonged to a newborn. The corpse was transferred to the hospital under the prosecution’s supervision, which ordered a forensic examination to determine the cause of death.
Investigations identified the parents of the baby, who were arrested shortly after. During questioning, both confessed to committing the crime, admitting that the child was born as a result of an illicit affair and that they disposed of the body after his death by throwing it in the garbage.
The Public Prosecution is continuing its investigation to complete legal procedures.
