Man Arrested for Motorcycle Theft in Gharbia

Security authorities in Gharbia arrested an unemployed man for stealing a motorcycle using the “distraction” method, after a video of the incident went viral on social media.

The **Egyptian security authorities** have uncovered the circumstances behind a motorcycle theft case in **Gharbia Governorate**, following the circulation of a video on social media showing a citizen complaining about being robbed by deception.

Investigations revealed that **Tanta Second Police Department** had received a report from a worker residing in the district, stating that an unknown man had stolen his **unlicensed motorcycle**. The victim explained that he had allowed the man to ride the bike briefly to help him exit a crowded street, only to find the suspect fleeing with it.

Police efforts quickly identified and arrested the perpetrator, who was found to be **an unemployed man with a criminal record** residing in the same area. During interrogation, he confessed to the theft, and led officers to the location of the stolen motorcycle, which was subsequently recovered.

Legal measures were taken, and the suspect was referred to the **Public Prosecution** for further investigation.
