Man Arrested for Threatening Sister and Mother with a Knife in Cairo
Egyptian security forces arrested a man in Cairo after he threatened his sister and mother with a knife over a financial dispute. The weapon was seized, and legal action was taken.
The Ministry of Interior revealed details of an incident in which a man threatened his sister and mother with a knife in Cairo’s Rod El Farag district after they refused to give him money.
According to security sources, police received a report from a woman accusing her brother—who appeared in a viral video on social media—of threatening her and their mother with a knife.
Investigations led to the identification and arrest of the suspect, who was found to be unemployed, with a criminal record, and a drug user. The knife used in the incident was seized. Upon questioning, he confessed to committing the act, and legal procedures were initiated against him.
In a related case, the Ministry had previously addressed a similar family dispute in Dakahlia, where a man assaulted his brother’s wife and vandalized her home over personal disagreements. The case was resolved after both parties reconciled during investigations.
The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its commitment to combating all forms of violence and maintaining public safety across Egypt.
