Security authorities in Assiut successfully identified and arrested a man who appeared in a widely circulated video committing indecent acts in public in front of a woman, sparking public outrage on social media.
Although no official complaint had been filed at the time of the incident, the Interior Ministry’s monitoring unit acted upon the viral video. Through investigations and technical analysis, the suspect was identified as an unemployed individual with prior criminal records residing within the jurisdiction of Assiut First Police Department.
After obtaining legal authorization, security forces arrested the suspect, who confessed to committing the act as shown in the video.
All necessary legal procedures were taken, and the suspect was referred to the Public Prosecution for further investigation.
