According to documents, Ahmed El-Degwy attempted to cash a EGP 54 million check and another worth EGP 166 million. Dr. Nawal El-Degwy reportedly contacted the bank and succeeded in stopping payment of the second check before it was processed.

The documents also indicate that one of the checks was later endorsed to Adly Kefafy, brother of Mai Kefafy, the wife of Amr El-Degwy, who formally demanded payment and warned of legal action if the amount was not paid.

Nahla Kotb, the wife of Adly Kefafy, filed a direct misdemeanor case against both Dr. Nawal El-Degwy and Ahmed El-Degwy before Qasr El-Nil Misdemeanor Court.

Court Rejects Amr El-Degwy's Lawsuit

Previously, the South Cairo Primary Court dismissed a lawsuit filed by Amr El-Degwy seeking to invalidate a property sale made by his grandmother, claiming she lacked the mental capacity to complete the transaction.

The court ruled that Dr. Nawal El-Degwy possesses full legal capacity and has the right to freely manage and dispose of her property.

Official Medical Report

The ruling relied on an official report issued by the National Council for Mental Health, which confirmed that Dr. Nawal El-Degwy is fully aware of time, place, and people, with normal memory, concentration, and judgment.

The report concluded that she is fully capable of managing her finances and making legal decisions independently.
