The legal troubles continue for producer Sara Khalifa, as the Court of Appeal has set the first trial session regarding recording and assaulting a young man in her private residence for March 2.
Meanwhile, the Cairo Criminal Court postponed the trial of Sara Khalifa and 27 other defendants in a case of forming a criminal organization for manufacturing and trafficking drugs, along with illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, to February 28.
Sara Khalifa faces penalties up to life imprisonment for drug-related charges, in addition to up to 3 years for drug use, according to investigations. Authorities have also frozen her assets and bank accounts as part of the legal measures.
Investigations revealed that the defendants established a criminal network to manufacture drugs for trafficking, with some responsible for importing raw materials, others for manufacturing, and others for distribution. One residential property was used as a base for storage and production, with over 750 kilograms of drugs and raw materials seized.
The referral decision was based on statements from 20 witnesses and digital and technical evidence, including chats, photos, and videos documenting the criminal activity.
