The Alexandria Court of Appeals upheld the death sentence by hanging for the defendant, lawyer N.A.L., in the high-profile case known as the “Al-Maamoura Slayer.”
The ruling comes after the Grand Mufti approved the execution of the death sentence, making the penalty final.
The court was headed by Chief Justice Sayed Abdel-Muttalib Sarhan, with Justices Ayman Ahmed Ramadan, Alaa Eldin Basyouni Abdelnaby, and Sherif Abdel-Maqsoud Ibrahim, and secretary Walid Mohamed Mohab, who reviewed all case files and evidence before confirming the sentence.
