One person lost his life and four others were injured in a horrific road accident on the eastern desert highway near the Beni Hassan checkpoint in Abu Qurqas, south of Minya Governorate.
According to security reports, the incident occurred when a pickup truck overturned due to loss of control caused by excessive speed. Emergency services and ambulances rushed to the scene, where the deceased was transported to the hospital morgue, and the injured were taken to Mallawi Specialized Hospital for treatment.
The victims sustained multiple injuries, including fractures, bruises, and suspected post-concussion cases. The preliminary investigation confirmed that speeding was the main reason behind the accident, leading to the vehicle overturning.
A police report was filed, and the public prosecution was notified to begin investigations. Authorities also cleared the road to restore normal traffic flow and placed the damaged vehicle under legal custody.
