Owners of Unlicensed Fertilizer and Waste Recycling Factories Arrested in Giza
Security forces in Giza arrested two individuals operating unlicensed factories, one producing fertilizers and the other recycling hazardous electronic waste, seizing large quantities of raw materials and complete production lines.
Authorities in Giza successfully apprehended two individuals operating factories without official licenses as part of an intensive campaign against environmental and commercial violations. Investigations revealed that one factory produced fertilizers using unknown raw materials that did not meet approved health standards, while the second factory recycled hazardous electronic waste into products sold illegally in the market, posing serious risks to public health and the environment.
Following legal procedures, the factories were raided, and the owners were seized along with 192.350 tons of raw materials and final products, as well as fully equipped production lines covering all manufacturing stages. Investigations showed that the manufacturing processes were conducted without any technical oversight, increasing the danger of these products for consumers and farmers, especially given the unknown source of raw materials.
Authorities also revealed that the factory owners had exploited the lack of regulation to operate illegally for an extended period, selling products at lower prices than official market rates to attract buyers, while causing environmental damage through the release of hazardous industrial waste.
Official reports were filed against the suspects, and competent authorities were notified to take all necessary legal actions, including shutting down the factories, seizing raw materials and products, and preventing any risk to public health or the environment. Security forces continue inspections across Giza and other governorates to detect unlicensed factories and prevent similar violations.
