Police Investigations Reveal New Details in Actress Jihan El Shamashergy Case

Police investigations have uncovered new details in a case involving actress Jihan El Shamashergy and four other individuals accused of committing a robbery inside an apartment located in the Qasr El Nil area of Cairo.

According to the investigation report prepared by Colonel Amr Zahran, deputy head of the West Cairo investigations unit, the inquiry requested by the Egyptian Public Prosecution revealed further details about the incident that took place inside the building mentioned in the complaint. The case is registered under No. 6553 of 2025, Qasr El Nil Misdemeanor Court.

Breaking the Apartment Lock and Seizing Property
The investigations stated that the accused arrived at the scene accompanied by several individuals using a transport vehicle. They reportedly headed to a residential building on Qasr El Nil Street and went up to the apartment located on the fourth floor.

According to the report, the suspects broke the apartment’s lock and seized several items from inside, including two sewing machines, four sofa sets, and a small table. The items were then transported using the truck that had been brought to the scene.

Financial Dispute Behind the Incident
Investigators indicated that the incident was allegedly driven by financial disputes between a woman and the complainant, identified as Mai Hossam Taha. According to the findings, the accused was reportedly encouraged by the woman to go to the apartment and take the items inside.

Attempt to Prevent the Suspects from Leaving
The building’s security guard reportedly informed one of the victims about what was happening. She then went to the location accompanied by her mother, identified as Omayma Mohamed, in an attempt to stop the suspects from removing the belongings.

The investigation documents noted that a verbal argument took place between both sides, but the victims were unable to prevent the suspects from loading the furniture into the vehicle.

Woman Injured While Trying to Stop the Vehicle
During the attempt to prevent the suspects from leaving, Omayma Mohamed reportedly tried to stop the transport vehicle by leaning against its door. However, the driver entered from the other side and drove away quickly, causing her to fall to the ground and sustain injuries, according to the investigation report.
