The post-ablution prayers are Sunnah practices taught by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, bringing the believer closer to Allah and opening the eight gates of Paradise. It is recommended to recite them immediately after ablution, facing the Qibla and looking toward the sky.
Recommended supplications:
-
The Two Testimonies (Shahada):
"I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger." -
Supplication for repentance:
"O Allah, make me among those who turn in repentance, and make me among the purified." -
Another traditional prayer:
"Glory is to You, O Allah, and praise; I bear witness that there is no god but You; I seek Your forgiveness and turn to You in repentance."
Benefits:
-
Those who recite these prayers after ablution have the eight gates of Paradise opened, and may enter from whichever gate they wish.
Important Notes:
-
Start ablution with "Bismillah" (In the Name of Allah).
-
No specific supplications were prescribed for each washed body part; it is best to stick to the authentic prayers.
-
Sunnah to recite facing the Qibla and raising the gaze to the sky.
