A tragic incident occurred in Warraq, Giza, where a preparatory school student committed suicide by hanging inside his home. The act followed discipline by his mother, who had confiscated his mobile phone after he refused to attend school.
The Warraq police received a report of the student’s death and immediately arrived at the scene. Investigations revealed that the student’s refusal to go to school, combined with the restriction from using his phone, caused him severe psychological distress, leading to the tragic decision.
The body was transferred to the morgue, family members were questioned, and an official report was filed. The competent prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation to determine the circumstances and underlying causes of the suicide
