Security authorities have arrested a prominent businessman who owns a well-known chain of retail stores at Borg El Arab Airport, following a judicial warrant issued against him in a case involving illegal foreign currency trading outside the official banking system and money laundering.
After completing the necessary legal procedures, authorities seized cash amounts, mobile phones, and a vehicle suspected to have been used in the alleged illegal activities. Investigations are ongoing to determine the full scope of the financial operations linked to the case.
In a separate incident, security forces apprehended another businessman residing in Monufia Governorate and owner of companies operating in the fertilizers and pesticides sector. The arrest was carried out to enforce 208 final court rulings issued against him in various cases.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect had been evading law enforcement for a period before being located and arrested at his residence.
Legal measures have been taken, and both suspects are being referred to the competent authorities for further investigation and enforcement of judicial decisions.
