Psychologically Disturbed Man Sprays Tour Guide with Pepper Spray in Cairo
Egyptian authorities arrested a psychologically disturbed young man who sprayed a tour guide in the face with pepper spray in Cairo before being restrained by local residents.
The Ministry of Interior clarified the details of a recent incident that went viral on social media, showing residents stopping a man who attacked a tour guide with pepper spray in Cairo. The suspect was swiftly detained and handed over to law enforcement.
According to investigations, the incident occurred in the 15th of May district, when the suspect stopped the victim at the entrance of his residence and sprayed his face with pepper spray. The victim called for help, prompting nearby citizens to intervene and restrain the attacker until the police arrived.
Upon interrogation, the suspect appeared psychologically unstable, showing clear signs of mental distress. His father confirmed that he suffers from a chronic mental disorder and provided medical documentation verifying his condition.
A report was filed, and legal action was taken, with the suspect referred to specialized authorities for psychological evaluation.
