A massive fire broke out today in a straw storage site in Al-Karakāt village, part of Biyala Center in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate, turning the entire area into ashes and sparking panic among residents. Firefighting units from the civil defense quickly rushed to the scene to contain the flames and prevent them from spreading to nearby houses or farmlands.

Major General Ihab Attia, Assistant Minister of Interior and Director of Kafr El-Sheikh Security, received a report from the emergency police about the fire. Immediately, several fire trucks were dispatched to tackle the situation.

Civil defense teams worked intensively to extinguish the fire as thick smoke and towering flames rose over the area. The surrounding zones were secured, and residents were evacuated as a precautionary measure.

Police forces also arrived at the site to assist in securing the area and facilitating the firefighters’ efforts. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and cooling operations are underway to ensure the fire does not reignite.

Investigations by the security services and forensic teams are ongoing to determine the cause and circumstances surrounding the incident.
