Cairo Criminal Court ruled on Saturday, September 5, sentencing artistic producer Sara Khalifa to three years in prison over allegations that she sexually assaulted a young man and filmed the incident.

The ruling came after the court reviewed the case, heard the defense arguments and examined the evidence and statements included in the investigation records.

Prison Sentences for Other Defendants

The court also sentenced Khaled Ahmed Abdel Moneim to three years in prison, while Fathy Khaled and Abdel Halim were each sentenced to seven years of rigorous imprisonment in connection with the charges against them.

The case dates back to allegations that Sara Khalifa and other defendants assaulted a young man and filmed the incident. Investigating authorities questioned the parties involved before referring the defendants to the Criminal Court.

The Public Prosecution had referred 28 defendants, including Sara Khalifa, to the Criminal Court on allegations of forming an organized criminal group specializing in importing materials used to manufacture synthetic drugs, allegedly for the purpose of manufacturing and trafficking them.

The charges also included possessing firearms and ammunition without the required licenses, according to the investigation records and referral documents.
