Securityauthorities in Qalyubia reviewed a circulating video showing a violent altercation among four people, including a woman in Behtim, to determine the timing and identity of those involved.
The footage showed two of the participants wielding bladed weapons threateningly, alarming pedestrians and residents.
Separately, authorities in Mahalla El-Kubra, Gharbia, investigated another viral video where a person appeared trying to revive another, claiming drug use with the phrase "al-‘ayyal btemout" (“kids are dying”).
Investigations revealed the video publisher is a street vendor with prior criminal record, who filmed a person in an unsteady state to falsely suggest drug use, aiming to mislead the public and respond to perceived campaigns against street vendors.
The person shown in the video was identified as unemployed with mental health issues, under treatment in a psychiatric facility, and returned home voluntarily under family supervision. Legal action was taken against the video publisher for false claims.
