Security authorities have revealed the details surrounding a viral video circulated on social media showing a man physically assaulting a young child in Gharbia Governorate.
Investigations confirmed that no official report had initially been filed regarding the incident. However, authorities successfully identified the child, a four-year-old resident of El-Mahalla. The child’s grandfather stated that on February 19, the boy’s father, who works in scrap trading and has prior criminal records, slapped his son in an attempt to discipline him.
According to the family’s statements, the child fell down a flight of stairs inside their home after being struck, resulting in multiple bruises. The father was subsequently arrested and admitted to the incident during questioning.
Legal measures have been taken, and investigations are ongoing to determine all aspects of the case.
