Security authorities in Dakahlia Governorate uncovered the circumstances surrounding a widely circulated video showing three individuals throwing a lit firework into a residential apartment, an act that could have resulted in severe injuries or a devastating fire.
Although no official report was initially filed, authorities launched immediate investigations after monitoring the viral clip.
Investigations identified the apartment owner, who confirmed that a burning rocket-type firework had been thrown into his home while the suspects were passing by in the street. Fortunately, no fire or material damage occurred.
After completing legal procedures, police successfully identified and arrested the three suspects, all residents of the same district.
During questioning, the suspects confessed to committing the act, claiming it was intended as a joke among themselves without realizing the serious danger posed to residents.
Legal measures were taken, and the suspects were referred to the Public Prosecution on charges of endangering citizens’ lives and unlawfully using flammable materials.
