The Public Prosecution referred a 6-member criminal gang, including students and a car broker, to felony court over cocaine and heroin trafficking in Cairo.
In a major drug trafficking case in Cairo, the Public Prosecution has referred a six-member criminal network, including four students, to the felony court on charges of forming an organized drug trafficking ring dealing in cocaine and heroin.
Case Details
According to case files No. 7219 of 2025 Felonies Qasr El-Nil, the first defendant, a car broker, formed a criminal gang that included students and a fugitive woman responsible for supplying narcotics.
The defendants, aged between 19 and 26, were assigned different roles in distributing and trafficking drugs across Cairo, according to investigation reports.
Large Seizures and Weapons
Security forces seized large quantities of drugs from a vehicle and a bag, including cocaine, heroin, and tramadol, along with 147 heroin packets and cash amounts.
A licensed-unregistered shotgun and ammunition were also confiscated, with forensic reports confirming the weapon’s usability.
Digital Evidence
Phone examinations revealed chats on messaging apps showing drug deals, images of narcotics, weapons, and financial transfers linked to the criminal activity.
Tests also confirmed that several defendants tested positive for hashish consumption, strengthening the prosecution’s case.
Prosecutor’s Decision
The Public Prosecution ordered continued detention for four defendants, released one, and issued arrest warrants for the fugitive sixth suspect, while also launching money laundering investigations related to the case.
The investigation continues into one of Cairo’s most structured drug trafficking networks.
