Investigators decided to release the girl and the elderly man involved in a dispute inside a subway car after both parties signed a reconciliation report, in line with legal procedures.
The incident occurred when the elderly man objected to the girl’s way of sitting in the subway car, leading to a verbal altercation and the filing of a police report. After completing the investigation, a reconciliation was reached, and both parties were released without further legal action.
Separately, the Ministry of Interior clarified the circumstances of a video circulating on social media showing the altercation. The girl – a resident of Cairo’s First Al-Salam district – and the man – from Beni Mazar in Minya – exchanged accusations, and authorities took the necessary legal measures after detaining them.
