The competent court issued a decision to suspend the execution of a one-month jail sentence against Ahmed Hossam Mido, former Egypt national team and Zamalek player, in the defamation case against former Football Association president Gamal Allam, for a period of three years.

Previously, the Economic Misdemeanors Appeals Court had accepted Mido’s appeal and replaced the one-month jail term with a fine of 20,000 EGP, in a case concerning harassment and defamation of Mahmoud El-Banna.

During the session, the court asked Mido about a person named Mahmoud Zakaria, to which he replied that he did not know him. His defense clarified that Mido was unaware of the person’s full name and that he was authorized.

Security authorities at the Economic Court maintained custody of Mido during the hearing of his appeal against the one-month sentence for defamation and harassment of Mahmoud El-Banna.
