Cairo Criminal Court will hold a session on Thursday to try producer Sarah Khalifa and several defendants in the high-profile drug manufacturing case.
The lawyer of one defendant stated that Sarah Khalifa’s brother claimed during investigations that he was unaware of the incident, adding: "On the day of the arrest, I was taken from inside my apartment and did not see the search warrant or the arrest order."
The lawyer emphasized that presenting the search warrant is crucial and could potentially alter the case’s outcome, as the current investigation was not thorough.
The defense also challenged the claims linking the first defendant to trafficking and the second and third defendants to distribution, highlighting that the investigation failed to clarify how the drugs entered the country, which constitutes a significant lapse and supports the defendants’ plea for acquittal.
