The Damanhour Criminal Court has postponed the trial of a mother accused of killing her six-month-old infant daughter, setting March 16 as the next session to hear the prosecution's arguments.
During the hearing, the accused denied all charges, asserting she did not harm her child. Her defense team requested a psychiatric evaluation to assess her mental state at the time of the incident and to determine if she requires specialized treatment.
The tragic incident occurred in Darshaba village, Al-Rahmaniya district, Beheira, where the divorced mother hid her six-month-old daughter inside a wardrobe. The act was allegedly motivated by a claim against her former fiancé, whom she accused of abducting or harming the child, following personal disputes.
A formal report was filed, and the case was referred to the public prosecution to conduct a thorough investigation and take the necessary legal actions.
