The Cairo New Capital Criminal Court has decided to postpone the trial of Sarah Khalifa and 27 other defendants accused of forming a network to manufacture and distribute drugs, to the next session tomorrow to hear the pleas of all lawyers.
The case involves allegations of forming a criminal gang to smuggle narcotics from abroad, produce them inside Egypt, and distribute them locally.
Lawyer Huda Al-Assal, defending the sixth defendant, stated in the previous session that her client comes from a socially established family and had previously served a five-year sentence, being released in September 2024. She also noted that his acquaintance with the third defendant dates back to their time in prison before his release.
