Two Dangerous Criminals Killed in Gunfire Exchange with Police in Qena
Two highly dangerous criminals were killed in a gunfire exchange with police forces in Qena during a raid targeting criminal networks involved in drug trafficking and illegal firearms possession.
As part of the Ministry of Interior’s ongoing efforts to combat organized crime and dismantle drug trafficking networks, two dangerous criminals were killed during an exchange of gunfire with police forces in Qena Governorate.
Investigations conducted by the General Security and Anti-Narcotics Departments, in coordination with other ministry agencies, revealed that several criminal groups across different governorates were engaged in smuggling large quantities of narcotics for distribution and in possessing unlicensed firearms.
Following legal authorization and coordination with the Central Security Sector, security forces launched a targeted operation that led to a firefight, resulting in the death of two high-risk criminals, both of whom had life imprisonment sentences in cases of drug trafficking, attempted murder, armed robbery, and resisting authorities.
The operation also resulted in the arrest of other gang members and the seizure of over 134 kilograms of various narcotics, including hashish, ice, shabu, powder, hydro, cocaine, strox, and the illegal substances MD and LSD, along with 38,500 narcotic pills and 10 different firearms.
The total estimated value of the seized drugs exceeded 82 million Egyptian pounds. Legal measures have been taken, and the Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its commitment to eradicating criminal networks and combating drug trafficking and illegal arms possession nationwide.
