A deadly road accident occurred on the Abu Simbel–Aswan highway, near kilometer 90, when a passenger bus collided with a pickup truck, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and temporary disruption of traffic.
Ambulances rushed to the scene following a report received by the Aswan Ambulance Authority. The victims were transferred to Abu Simbel International Hospital, where medical teams attempted to save their lives, but both succumbed to their severe injuries.
Security forces and emergency officials moved to the scene to conduct an initial inspection and determine the cause of the crash, with preliminary indications suggesting excessive speed may have been a contributing factor.
A police report was filed, and the Public Prosecution was notified to begin legal investigations.
