The Royal Center for Islamic Research and Studies (MABDA), affiliated with the Royal Institute of Al Al-Bayt for Islamic Thought in Jordan, announced the inclusion of Professor Dr. Ali Gomaa among the 50 most influential Muslim figures in the world for 2026, as published in the annual «The Muslim 500» report.

This marks the 17th consecutive year for this recognition, affirming his sustained impact as one of the leading scholars and influencers in contemporary Islamic thought.

The report highlighted his scholarly depth and ability to renew religious discourse without compromising its principles, noting his role as former Grand Mufti of Egypt, supervising over 8 million fatwas, transforming Dar Al-Ifta into a global research institution, and authoring more than 50 books in jurisprudence, Sufism, and Islamic thought.

It also emphasized his spiritual leadership as Sheikh of the Shadhili Sadiki Sufi order, his promotion of mercy and ethical conduct, his stance against extremism, and his advocacy for humanitarian causes, notably his support for Gaza.
