Friday Sermon Warns Against Cyber Harassment and Its Social Impact
The Ministry of Endowments highlights the dangers of cyber harassment in a nationwide Friday sermon.
The Ministry of Endowments announced that the topic of this Friday’s sermon will focus on “Cyber Harassment Crimes,” to be delivered across mosques nationwide, with instructions for imams to adhere to the set theme and duration.
The sermon emphasized the serious dangers of online harassment, noting that harmful actions carried out through digital platforms can be just as damaging—if not more—than those in real life due to their rapid spread.
It stressed that hiding behind screens does not shield individuals from divine accountability, as every action, word, and message is recorded and will be judged.
Special attention was given to cyber extortion, described as a severe and complex crime involving betrayal and exploitation of personal privacy, with serious consequences in both worldly and spiritual terms.
Additionally, the second part of the sermon warned about excessive use of electronic games, particularly among children, urging families to maintain balance between entertainment and healthy real-life engagement.
