Is Covering the Face During Prayer Due to Cold Permissible?
A clear religious ruling on covering the mouth and nose during prayer in cold weather, and when it becomes permissible.
It explained that the dislike of covering the face in prayer applies only when there is no necessity. However, when الحاجة موجودة، the ruling shifts to permissibility, and the prayer remains valid and acceptable without any issue.
In addition, it emphasized that deliberately missing Fajr prayer due to cold without a valid excuse is considered a major sin if a person is awake and able to pray. However, if someone misses it due to sleep or forgetfulness, there is no sin, and they must perform it immediately upon remembering, based on the Prophet’s teaching.
The time of Fajr prayer begins at true dawn and ends at sunrise, and delaying it intentionally beyond its time is not allowed, as it is one of the most important pillars of daily worship.
Even in the cold silence of dawn, prayer remains a source of warmth for the soul, a quiet light that guides the heart back to its Creator.
