A leading religious authority has clarified the ongoing debate بشأن whether it is permissible to greet non-Muslims on their holidays, affirming that such actions fall under the values of kindness and goodwill encouraged in Islamic teachings.

The clarification highlighted that treating others with respect and compassion—regardless of their beliefs—is a fundamental principle of Islam, supported by clear references that promote fairness, good speech, and ethical interaction with all people.

It was further explained that there is no prohibition against showing kindness to non-Muslims, especially those who live peacefully, as Islamic teachings encourage maintaining good relations, exchanging greetings, and even giving and receiving gifts.

In support of this view, references were made to established traditions demonstrating that accepting gifts from non-Muslims is permissible and rooted in prophetic practice, reinforcing the idea of openness and mutual respect.
