Many people ask whether there is a specific chapter in the Qur’an that directly supports the oppressed or guarantees the acceptance of supplications against an oppressor. This question often arises especially during recommended times for supplication, such as the last third of the night, when mercy is abundant and prayers are more likely to be answered.

Scholars have clarified that this belief is incorrect, as there is no specific surah designated for such a purpose. The Qur’an as a whole is guidance, healing, and mercy, and it is recited with the intention of drawing closer to Allah and asking Him for one’s needs, including relief from injustice and restoration of rights.

Regarding what is commonly referred to as “special Yaseen recitations,” scholars have explained that this is not an established practice in Islamic teachings. Rather, Surah Yaseen may be recited with sincere intentions such as seeking healing, ease, or relief from hardship, without attributing specific rituals or fixed formulas to it.

As for supplicating against an oppressor, Islamic teachings permit the oppressed person to do so. There are clear textual evidences allowing the oppressed to invoke Allah against those who wrong them, and such supplications are not obstructed from reaching Allah.

However, forgiving and showing patience are considered superior and more virtuous. Choosing to pardon others and entrust matters to Allah reflects a higher moral character, and it brings greater reward, as Islam encourages restraint, forgiveness, and good conduct even in the face of injustice.

Islam therefore balances between permitting the oppressed to seek justice through supplication and encouraging forgiveness as a noble path. Both are valid, but forgiveness holds a higher spiritual rank.

In conclusion, no specific surah has been designated exclusively for supporting the oppressed. Instead, Islam opens the door of supplication broadly, affirming that Allah’s justice is absolute and that no right is ever lost, whether in this world or in the hereafter.
