Huawei is preparing to unveil its next-generation flagship smartphone series, Mate 80, featuring advanced technologies and specifications designed to compete with top-tier smartphones like the upcoming iPhone 17.
One of the expected highlights is the Huawei Mate 80 Pro+, which will reportedly feature a 6.88-inch tandem OLED display with 1.5K resolution. This dual-layer OLED technology offers higher brightness, better efficiency, and longer screen lifespan compared to traditional OLED panels.
On the front, the phone is rumored to house a single selfie camera paired with a 3D ToF sensor, arranged in a triple-punch-hole design, enhancing face recognition and depth detection.
The rear camera setup is said to include a 50MP LOFIC main sensor (1/1.28-inch) with a variable aperture, and a 48MP periscope telephoto lens supporting 3P+3P internal focusing, ideal for both long-range zoom and macro photography.
Under the hood, the device is expected to run on the new Kirin 9030 chipset, which may offer improved power efficiency compared to the Kirin 9020. It will likely be powered by a massive 6000mAh+ battery, supporting 100W wired and 80W wireless charging.
The phone may also support eSIM in addition to a physical nanoSIM, marking Huawei’s first step into dual SIM flexibility with embedded support.
The Mate 80 series is expected to debut in November, alongside Huawei’s new foldable device Mate X7. Both devices will run HarmonyOS 6, enhanced with next-gen AI features for a smarter user experience.
