OpenAI has officially launched a major update to ChatGPT, allowing users to connect external applications directly to the AI assistant — turning it into a powerful hub that can book hotels, create playlists, or design presentations on command.
By simply typing the name of an app such as “Spotify” or “Expedia” at the start of a chat, users can log in and link their accounts. Once connected, ChatGPT can execute actions on their behalf — from generating a new Canva design to building a Spotify playlist or finding hotels on Booking.com.
All integrations can be managed in Settings > Apps and Connectors, where users can browse available services and manage connections easily.
Privacy and Permissions
OpenAI cautions users to review permissions carefully before linking accounts.
For instance, connecting Spotify may allow ChatGPT to access playlists, listening history, and user profile data.
However, users retain full control and can disconnect any app at any time from the settings panel.
