Top-Selling Smartphones Worldwide in Q2 2025: Samsung Leads, Apple Follows
Samsung led the global smartphone market in Q2 2025, followed by Apple, as the market showed moderate growth driven by AI-powered mid-range devices.
According to the latest global smartphone market data, Samsung topped shipments during the second quarter of 2025 with approximately 58 million units, marking a 7.9% year-over-year growth and capturing a 19.7% market share.
This growth was largely driven by the success of the Galaxy A36 and Galaxy A56, which brought advanced AI features to the mid-range segment—appealing to consumers looking for intelligent performance at affordable prices.
Apple held the second position, shipping 46.4 million units with a 1.5% year-over-year increase and a 15.7% market share. Despite a slight 1% decline in China, Apple saw strong performance in emerging markets.
In third place, Xiaomi shipped 42.5 million units, with a 14.4% market share and modest 0.6% growth.
Vivo and Transsion took the fourth and fifth spots, shipping 27.1 million and 25.1 million units, respectively.
Total global smartphone shipments reached 295.2 million units in Q2 2025, reflecting a 1% annual growth amid ongoing economic challenges such as inflation and unemployment.
Nevertheless, this quarter marks the eighth consecutive quarter of market growth—a trend not seen since 2013—indicating a potential long-term recovery.
