Barcelona unveils its 2025–2026 kit with a head‑turning design
Barcelona unveils its 2025–26 kit, Yamal postpones the No. 10, and Fati renews and goes out on loan.
Sports broadcaster Amr Hesham revealed on his Facebook page the official design of Barcelona’s next‑season kit, which preserves the club’s traditional vertical stripes while blending in modern elements inspired by Barcelona’s landmarks, and watercolor hues that evoke the waves of the Mediterranean. The first glimpses of the design drew praise from fans and Blaugrana aficionados across social media.
Meanwhile, promising youngster Lamine Yamal has expressed his wish to delay the formal ceremony for being bestowed the legendary No. 10 shirt until his birthday on July 13, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano via X. This request reflects Yamal’s desire to make the moment of receiving the iconic jersey a personal celebration, adding an extra layer of significance.

As for Ansu Fati—whose comeback has been repeatedly hampered by injuries—Barcelona has officially extended his contract through June 30, 2028, and agreed to loan him to AS Monaco for the next two seasons. In an official statement, the club said this move aims to give Fati “a greater opportunity for regular play and to regain both his technical and psychological fitness” following a series of setbacks since 2020, the most serious of which was an ACL tear that sidelined him for over eight months.
Fati (born in Bissau on October 31, 2002) joined La Masia in 2012, progressing through the youth ranks to become the youngest player ever to feature for the first team at the age of 16. He also scored Barcelona’s youngest-ever La Liga goal and the competition’s youngest Champions League goal against Inter Milan in October 2019. Despite his meteoric rise, Fati has faced significant challenges, but the Catalan club’s management is confident he will fully reclaim his form with consistent minutes in the French league.
Fan reactions have ranged from enthusiastic approval of Yamal’s initiative and keen interest in the new kit’s details, to optimism about Fati’s strong return after his loan spell—emphasizing that the No. 10 shirt at Camp Nou will once again adorn stars who make a real difference on the pitch.
