Juradishar: Tunisia's heat is preparing us... and our goal is an unforgettable start.
Nejc Gradisar praises the atmosphere of Al Ahly’s training camp in Tunisia and stresses the importance of physical preparation for a long and challenging season.
Slovenian striker Nejc Gradisar, of Al Ahly's first football team, expressed his satisfaction with the technical and physical atmosphere prevailing at the team’s current training camp in Tunisia. He praised the serious and intensive preparations as the squad gears up for the start of the new season.
In media statements, Gradisar highlighted that the friendly match against Stade Tunisien served as a real opportunity to assess the players' readiness and to evaluate the level of cohesion between the new signings and the rest of the group. He noted that such encounters help the coaching staff identify key tactical aspects that need further development before the official competitions begin.
The Slovenian forward pointed out that the high temperatures during the camp are one of the main challenges the team is facing. However, he sees the tough conditions as a positive factor, pushing players to exert greater physical effort, which in turn boosts overall fitness. He described this as a crucial part of preparing for what promises to be a long and demanding season, with multiple domestic and continental titles at stake.
Regarding the friendly against Stade Tunisien, Gradisar explained that the team delivered a strong performance and managed to score multiple goals, despite missing some clear chances. He emphasized that this phase is primarily about preparation and evaluation, and that there are still many details to work on in the coming period.
Gradisar also praised his teammate Mohamed Sherif, who impressed during the match by scoring twice. He described Sherif as a standout player and a valuable asset to the attacking line, thanks to his experience and ability to capitalize on chances.
Commenting on Sherif’s return to wearing the No. 10 jersey, Gradisar said that jersey numbers don’t hold much significance for him personally, adding that what truly matters is performance and contribution on the pitch, not the number on the back.
In closing, Gradisar sent a message to Al Ahly fans:
“We promise our loyal supporters that we’ll give everything we have this season. We’ll fight with all our strength to win titles and make them proud. Their constant support is our biggest motivation, and we’ll keep working hard for them and for the club.”
