Sfaxien Secures Deal for Former Zamalek Player Travis Mutyaba
CS Sfaxien has signed Ugandan winger Travis Mutyaba, formerly of Zamalek, on a three-year deal running until 2028.
Tunisian side CS Sfaxien has continued to strengthen its squad in preparation for the new season by officially announcing the signing of young Ugandan star Travis Mutyaba, a former Zamalek player. The winger joins on a permanent deal that runs for three seasons, until the summer of 2028.
According to Tunisian radio station Mosaique FM, Mutyaba has completed all transfer procedures, including successfully passing his medical tests. He is set to join the team's training camp starting today, Wednesday, as part of the pre-season preparations.
Travis Mutyaba is considered one of the most promising young talents in Ugandan football. Known for his technical skills and speed on the right wing, he was born in Nansana, Uganda, on August 7, 2005, making him only 19 years old — one of the youngest signings in the Tunisian league this summer.
Mutyaba began his professional career with Ugandan side Vipers SC before having a brief stint with Egyptian club Zamalek in 2023. He later joined French club Girondins de Bordeaux, where he played for the reserve team in the French fourth division — an experience that gave him early European exposure despite his young age.
On the international level, Mutyaba has represented the Ugandan national team in 21 matches so far, scoring two goals. He is regarded in his home country as a future cornerstone of the national squad. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is estimated at around €100,000.
CS Sfaxien's coaching staff hopes Mutyaba will bring an added dimension to the team’s offensive play, especially with the club focusing on signing ambitious young talents capable of making an impact in domestic and continental competitions.
