Sports Minister Denies Referring Zamalek Board to Public Prosecution
Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Ashraf Sobhy, confirmed that the Zamalek SC board has not been referred to the Public Prosecution, denying rumors about its dissolution or resignation, while clarifying the legal status of the October land case.
Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports, clarified in statements to Youm7 that the ministry has not referred Zamalek SC’s board of directors to the Public Prosecution regarding the ongoing October land file, dismissing circulating claims as false.
Sobhy said, “No, the board has not been referred to prosecution, and no decision has been made to dissolve the Zamalek board.” He emphasized that the ministry only follows up on legal matters and does not interfere with judicial procedures. ⚖️
The minister also denied rumors that the Zamalek board had submitted its resignation, stating that no such step had been taken and that reports suggesting otherwise were unfounded.
Sobhy explained that the ministry continues to monitor the legal proceedings related to the October land project, which remains under review by the Public Prosecution. He confirmed that the ministry will await official results before taking any action. 🏛️
