Tottenham Considering Son Heung-min’s Departure… Will He Move to the Saudi League?
Tottenham is considering selling Son due to his declining performance.
English club Tottenham Hotspur is preparing for the possible sale of its South Korean star Son Heung-min during the upcoming summer transfer window, in a move aimed at rebuilding and refreshing the squad.
According to Foot Mercato, Tottenham has decided to part ways with coach Ange Postecoglou and appoint Thomas Frank as his successor, along with making major changes to the playing roster, including the signing of young talent Bryan Mbeumo to strengthen the team.
The decision to potentially offload Son comes after a dip in his performance last season, where he scored 11 goals and provided 12 assists in 46 appearances across all competitions — a level below expectations both individually and collectively.
Reports confirmed that Son has been feeling isolated in the dressing room, particularly after the departures of goalkeeper Hugo Lloris and star striker Harry Kane, which impacted his position within the club. His relationship with his management agency has also reportedly become strained, and he expressed disappointment over not receiving a contract renewal offer so far.
It is believed that the Saudi Pro League presents an attractive destination for Son if he decides to leave, alongside interest from Turkish club Fenerbahçe, which could also be a possible option should he move away from England. Meanwhile, Tottenham continues to push forward with its plan to build a strong team capable of competing in future tournaments.
