Through his official Instagram account, Ahmed Fattouh shared an emotional apology, saying:
“I extend my sincere apologies to our loyal fans, the honorable board of directors, the respected sporting director, and my dedicated teammates for what I’ve done—both to the club and to myself. I admit I made mistakes, and I deeply regret what happened.”
He continued:
“I promise to take full responsibility and fight with everything I have to regain the trust of Zamalek’s great fans. I know forgiveness won’t change the past, but it can give me a better chance at building a stronger future and recovering what I lost.”
He added:
“I swear I’ll keep my promise. I’ll give my all on and off the pitch to make our supporters proud. Special thanks to the football director, who’s been like a father to me and endured so much on my behalf.”

For his part, Khaled Al-Ghandour, Zamalek legend and sports media personality, responded via his official Facebook page, saying:

Al-Ghandour added:
