Started acting as a child in the film Kholoud (1948), directed by Ezz El-Din Zulficar.
Took a 13-year break from acting before returning in the film Summer Vacation (1966).
After the 1967 War, she resumed her career in films such as:

🎥 A Tailor for Ladies (1969) – with Shadia & Duraid Lahham
🎥 The Choice (1971) – with Soad Hosny
🎥 Men Without Features (1972) – with Salah Zulfikar & Nadia Lotfy
She did not achieve the same level of success and ultimately retired permanently.
💔 Her Tragic Marriage Story
📖 She married screenwriter Mohamed Kamel Hassan, but the secretary of Marshal Abdel Hakim Amer, named Abdel Moneim Abou Zeid, fell in love with her and wanted to marry her.
🔗 When her husband refused to divorce her, he was arrested and forcibly placed in a psychiatric hospital!
⚖️ Souhir was forced to file for divorce, which eventually happened, and she then married the Marshal’s secretary.
✈️ Her ex-husband was later banished to Lebanon and then Kuwait, and psychiatric treatment bills under his name were found among the Marshal’s secret documents after his suicide.
