Born into a family where his father was a village mayor.
Started his career as an employee at the Ministry of Justice before moving into theater.
Joined several theatrical troupes, including:
🎭 Abdel Rahman Roshdy’s Troupe (1923)
🎭 Ramses Troupe, which he left in 1930
🎭 Fatma Roshdy’s Troupe
🎭 The National Troupe, later renamed The National Theater Troupe
Suffered from a retinal detachment, preventing him from performing on stage, and traveled to Germany for treatment.
Worked as a theater director for high school troupes, teaching actors like Fakher Fakher.
Founded the Actors’ Syndicate and played a key role in the development of Egyptian theater.
Received the Order of Science and Arts (First Class) in 1960 🏅
