Bayt Al Saad is the creation of Egyptian entrepreneur Mai El Ghendour, who turned her lifelong passion for color and light into a thriving handmade lighting brand.
After 25 years in the hotel industry, working on high-profile projects in some of Egypt’s largest hotels, El Ghendour decided to follow her artistic calling and master the craft of chandelier making—from traditional glassblowing to modern design.

Her company produces eco-friendly, 90% locally sourced handmade lighting units that combine traditional Egyptian identity with a modern artistic touch.

During her appearance on Shark Tank Egypt, El Ghendour requested an investment of EGP 6 million in exchange for 25% equity, aiming to expand production lines and increase capacity to 3,600 units by 2026, targeting EGP 30 million in annual sales.

Vision and Goals:

Bayt Al Saad was built with two key goals:

Empowering women to work from home through skill training and handcrafted production.

Reviving Egyptian heritage crafts, particularly in crystal and blown glass manufacturing, preserving the artistry for future generations.

Currently, the business operates a factory in Obour City and a showroom in Heliopolis, with plans to launch a mobile app allowing customers to personalize chandelier designs—choosing colors, sizes, and even naming their pieces.

Creativity and Reach:

El Ghendour collaborated with young digital creators to produce engaging social media videos, helping her brand reach over 1.5 million viewers nationwide and abroad.
Her chandeliers, priced between EGP 1,500 and 25,000, have gained attention from top hotels and resorts, including custom Italian-inspired designs for New Alamein City.
