The Egyptian media and artistic community lost one of its most prominent figures on Saturday morning with the passing of producer and media personality Dr. Walid Mostafa, husband of Lebanese singer Carole Samaha, at the age of 53, after a years-long battle with illness.

Walid Mostafa's health struggles began in 2018 when he traveled to China for specialized treatment, before returning to Egypt to continue his journey of recovery surrounded by his family. During these challenging years, his wife Carole Samaha took a step back from her artistic and media activities to care for him and their only daughter, Tala.

The late Walid Mostafa is considered one of the most significant names that left a lasting mark on the Arab media landscape. He contributed to the founding and management of major institutions such as "Youm7" newspaper, where he served as the chairman until 2013. He also launched the "Al-Nahar" TV channel and contributed to providing diverse content that gained a wide following. Later, he managed "Radio Nile" and launched the Arabic version of "NRJ Energy" radio, aimed at the youth audience, which marked a turning point in the Egyptian radio scene.

Walid Mostafa also made notable contributions to supporting artistic and musical production, collaborating with prominent artists from Egypt and Lebanon, making him a significant supporter of talent and ambitious artistic projects.

Carole Samaha mourned her husband with an emotional message posted on her Instagram account, which read:

"Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'oon. Today, I lost my husband and my love, Dr. Walid Mostafa, after a long battle with illness... I have never seen anyone believe in struggle like you. I lost your body, but your spirit will remain an example to me."

Actress Yousra also expressed her condolences, deeply saddened by the news. She posted a picture of Carole and her husband and wrote:

"Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'oon... My heartfelt condolences for the passing of my loyal friend, a man of great character, Walid Mostafa, the husband of my friend, Carole Samaha."

The deceased's funeral was held after the Dhuhr prayer from the Police Mosque in Sheikh Zayed City, attended by a number of friends, loved ones, and public and artistic figures, bidding farewell to a man who left a mark on the media and touched the hearts of those who knew him.

With Walid Mostafa's passing, Egyptian and Arab media lose a prominent figure who contributed to advancing content creation, while the arts bid farewell to a true supporter of creativity, a man who believed in the power of words and the impact of images until the very end of his life.
