Director Hesham El-Rashidy has shared his gratitude and excitement following the massive audience turnout and positive feedback for his latest film, “Oscar: Return of the Mammoth.” Despite the success, he expressed regret that the movie has yet to be shown in theaters equipped with the advanced technologies used to create it.
In a heartfelt statement on his official page, he wrote:
“A huge thank you to the great Egyptian audience. The feedback and comments on social media mean a lot to us. Many people are booking, and screenings are fully packed — it’s a great honor. But we hope theaters will support us by providing larger halls that match the film’s technical scale.”
El-Rashidy revealed that Oscar is the first film in the Middle East produced using Dolby Atmos technology, and that Dolby UK had reached out after viewing the film, showing deep interest and offering marketing support, as it stands as a unique cinematic experience in the region.
However, he added with disappointment:
“It’s strange and sad that despite being the only Dolby Atmos film, it hasn’t been screened in any Atmos-equipped hall yet — and behind it are 250 talented artists and engineers who gave everything.”
The director praised the efforts of more than 250 Egyptian artists and engineers who worked on the project within Trend Studios, known for their innovative impact on both Arab and international cinema.
El-Rashidy emphasized that the project is more than just a film — it’s a pioneering visual experience that could open doors for major investments and international productions to be made in Egypt.
He concluded:
“Our hope remains that the film will get the place it deserves in theaters, shown in halls that suit its technology. This is just the first step — many more are coming.”
Oscar: Return of the Mammoth stands out as a groundbreaking cinematic journey, merging drama, adventure, and visual innovation to elevate Egyptian cinema into a new era of global competitiveness.
