Blogger Omnia Hegazy revealed the deep psychological impact of her crisis with preacher Abdullah Rushdy, stating that she is going through a difficult period and needs time to recover before considering marriage again.

In an interview on "Masa’ El Yasmin" with Yasmin Al Khatib on Al Shams channel, Omnia said: "After my marriage experience with Abdullah Rushdy, I have psychological issues I need to resolve before thinking about marrying again, so I don’t hurt myself, anyone with me, or my daughter… I am tired and broken." She added: "What hurt me the most was that he ignored the attacks on my honor.. I wanted the separation to be respectful; I didn’t want his image tarnished because he’s my daughter’s father."

Omnia also discussed her father’s support, who initially viewed Abdullah Rushdy as a religious man: "My dad trusted him because he saw him as a religious man, but he betrayed that trust. My dad was sympathetic and didn’t want the divorce, but when he knew I offered reconciliation and he refused, he changed his stance."

She decided to speak out after feeling let down by someone she considered a religious role model, demanding that Abdullah Rushdy acknowledge their daughter.

Omnia detailed their marriage: "Abdullah Rushdy didn’t influence my wearing the hijab. I followed his content, considered the khimar, learned religious studies, and thought about the niqab. I asked him if it was obligatory, and he said my attire was respectable – that was the beginning of our conversation." She added: "In May he asked my father for my hand, and four days after the engagement we married. The certificate said he was unmarried, though I knew he had been married and divorced before me."

She also spoke about social media issues: "The marriage was official, and my family knew, but I didn’t want my life online. Later, I received messages from strange accounts and discovered women talking about me, defaming me. I filed a complaint, but he asked me to withdraw it." She added: "What hurt me most was his silence despite the attacks – he should have cared more."

Omnia emphasized that she married him despite a 14-year age difference seeking spiritual stability, but faced many challenges: "The experience was very difficult, and he could have removed me from my faith."
