Today, we commemorate the birthday of the renowned actress Nadia Lutfi, born Bola Mohamed Shafik on January 3, 1937, in Cairo. She graduated from the German School Diploma in 1955 and was discovered by director Ramses Naguib, making her first film appearance in "Sultan" (1959) before her true breakout in "The Black Glasses" (1963).

Her cinematic career includes more than 75 films, notably Al-Nasser Salah Al-Din, Al-Sebaa Banat, Al-Khataya, Al-Saman Wal-Khareef, Lel-Rigal Faqat, Al-Ikhwa Al-A’daa. She also appeared in one TV series, "Nas Walad Nas," and one theater play.

Personal Life and Marriages

Nadia Lutfi was married three times:

  1. First to Adel Al-Bishri, with whom she had her son.

  2. Second to engineer Ibrahim Sadeq, lasting six years without children.

  3. Third to Mohamed Sabry, during the filming of "Saint Catherine."

National Contributions

Nadia Lutfi was deeply patriotic. During the October War 1973, she assisted wounded soldiers in hospitals and wrote letters to their families. She also collected soldiers’ testimonies in the film "Armies of the Sun" by Shadi Abdel Salam. She actively supported humanitarian causes and expressed solidarity with Palestine.

Final Will

Before her death, Nadia Lutfi requested not to be buried on the day of her passing but the following day. She passed away on February 4, 2020, after a severe respiratory illness.
