She remembered standing behind actress Kheiriya, feeling nervous about being rejected while waiting among the other candidates.
Samira Ahmed explained that the line she eventually delivered in the scene was: “Would you like some champagne, madam?” She was then paid one Egyptian pound for the appearance.
Anwar Wagdy Told Her: “You Will Become a Star”
Samira Ahmed said she objected to the payment after people around her told her that she deserved 150 pounds. She then approached Anwar Wagdy to discuss the matter.
According to her account, Wagdy told her: “Go collect the pound, and one day you will become a star.”
The statement remained an important memory for Samira Ahmed throughout her career.
Some time later, she met Anwar Wagdy again while working on the film Al Ostaz Sharaf, but her position had changed significantly by then, as she was now appearing as a leading actress opposite him.
